Equipment

HDPE pipe fusing/installing

We originally acquired McElroy pipe fusers as support equipment for our dredging fleet. CGEI now contracts out McElroy trained crews and McElroy units for various applications. Our work units are highly mobile and can be quickly transported over common roadways. Upon arrival, set-up is quick and operation usually begins in a matter of minutes. We are capable of fusing HDPE (High-Density-Poly-Ethylene) pipe from 2” to 18”.

Aquamaster

 In a word, versatile. This is the Aquamaster. Designed and built in our fabrication shop, it is a self-propelled barge equipped with spuds, stabilizers, and a hydraulic boom that can be quickly fitted with;

  1. Tree shearer (up to 14”)
  2. Sludge Press ( 1.5 cubic yards)
  3. Debris Bucket (1.5 cubic yards)
  4. Excavator Bucket
  5. Cutting Talon
  6. Jackhammer

Mobile Mechanical Dewatering Plant

Our modular High Speed Dewatering Plants can be mobilized to your site easily over common roadways. Our setup, requiring a crane, takes less than a day. The plant’s two Decanter Centrifuges are each driven by 200hp drives controlled by VFD (Variable Frequency Drives) and two 75hp automatic back drives which maximize cake dryness and production. Typically, a 0.5% to 12% solids input is reduced to 10% to 55% solids output by weight. Productivity of 40 to 150 DMT (Dry Metric Tons per day) has been attained in paper and mine sludge.

MC915

The MC-915 is a standard Mud Cat. It consists of an inboard 8” x 6” or 8” x 8” pump driven by a 238hp diesel. Its capacity is 2000 USGPM against 175 ft of head. Its usefulness is in moving sand, mud, and waste products to distance of up to 4000 ft by itself. It is the most commonly used machine we operate. The MC-915 is equipped with a patented mud shield to reduce re-suspension of solids and a noise suppressing muffler to reduce noise pollution.

MC-915 SP

The Mud Cat MC-915-SP is a bottom pump unit utilizing a 238 hp diesel motor to drive hydraulic pumps that in turn drive hydraulic motors connected to a pump capable of 2000 USGPM against 150 ft of head. Discharge is through an 8” pipe. This unit is useful on shorter distances where a consistent thick sludge is needed, such as to supply our centrifuge dewatering plant. The “SP” has a standard digging depth of 15ft and it cuts a pass 9ft wide.

MC-915X

The super mud cat; is a modified MC-915. This unit consists of a 350hp diesel driving a 10” x 12” screw pump. It is capable of passing extraordinary debris through its 12” discharge pipeline. For example, a 20’ foot long 3” rope can pass through the pump uninterrupted. Small trees, branches, and stones up to 6” can be handled without difficulty. Its usefulness is striking in a lagoon that has considerable debris, interlaced with waste and/or sediment.

Ellicott 370 Dragon

When you’ve got a lot of compact material to move this is your dredge

This unit is powered by a 425hp diesel motor that drives a 14” x 12” pump. It is highly efficient in dredging compacted materials and can dislodge sediment effortlessly with its powerful cutter-head. This cutter suction dredge is often used to relocate large volumes of tailings or to dig boat channels or marinas.

Leonard Ellicott 370 Dragon

With a hull made entirely of stainless steel and 500hp strong, this dredge is tough. Designed to operate in highly acidic conditions and outfitted with the latest in digital and operational technology, “Leonard” does one thing; it solves problems. This dredge can take anything you can throw at it and then some. The pump is capable of pumping a head of 175 ft. with a volume of 4000 to 6000 USGPM without a booster station. Add a booster station to its discharge and you can double that distance.

Harvester

This machine is a self propelled barge with a diesel engine driving several hydraulic systems. It can be used as a transport barge for debris, rocks, trees, floating debris, etc. It can also be used as an aquatic weed harvester. When adapted with a cutter, it can cut underwater weeds, pick them up, bring them to shore, and unload all by itself. In addition, the harvester can also be used as a trash skimmer for floating debris such as branches, weeds, and garbage. It is an ideal machine to clean waterways of floating materials.

Spreading Barge

This unit is typically used in conjunction with a dredge to spread different products evenly on bottoms of ponds, lakes, etc. It has been instrumental in spreading material to cover lagoon liners and encapsulating hazardous materials.

The dredge discharge pipe is attached to the spreader barge that propels itself on a winch and cable system. The hydraulic winch is driven by a small diesel engine.

Testimonials

It is a nice change to have a group come on site to do a job, who are self sufficient, and efficient. You folks certainly were that. - May 18, 2008
