35 Years of Service with Ellicott Dredges

Malcolm Wilson, General Manager
Consolidated Giroux
Consolidated Giroux has seen a long and fruitful history of working in the Dredge industry in Canada in no large part to the exceptional service and equipment Ellicott Dredge has provided them over the last 35 years.
The long working relationship with Ellicott has helped Giroux gain a firm and permanent place in the Canadian market.
Ellicott has and continues to supply consolidated giroux with excellent parts service and expertise.
“This relationship has been the backbone of our operation and effectiveness in working in some of the most hazardous and challenging situations in Canada” - Eugene Rousselle dredge Manager.
Consolidated Giroux has adapted to the growth and changes in the dredging industry to provide professional service to our clients when problems with remediation.
Ellicott has been with us to help with these challenges every step of the way.
Working in Northern Canada in Pulp, Paper & mining ponds create conditions that require ingenuity to accomplish dredge work before Mother Nature can take its toll on both men and machinery.
Consolidated Giroux has weathered 35 years of these storms and is able to translate this experience into cost savings for the clients.
One such project involved relocation of 1,000,000y3 of lime and lime hydroxide waste, complicated by free-standing trees and brush in a pond. This material also needed to be pumped 10,000 feet to the disposal site.
Dredging began at a critical point where the settling pond discharged into a river that feeds into Hudson Bay, an extremely environmental sensitive area.
Consolidated Giroux used a modified 915 Mud Cat, completed in their facility in Charlo New Brunswick to carry out this project.
We are very dedicated to the Ellicott family of dredges. This is best shown with these pictures of one of our first Mudcat dredge seen below in 1976. We also have a picture of the same dredge working today in New Brunswick.

We appreciate the quick response and effort Ellicott has made for us in parts replacement and service. Through all the changes Ellicott has seen and both companies have experienced the relationship has continued.
With an uncertain economic future ahead of us our commitment to providing cost effective and professional service will never change. Our solid 35 year relationship in the dredging industry will once again be tested in these times, and as before we will together prevail.
Thank you Ellicott
